Danekræ

Inspired by the Danefæ Act, the term “Danekræ” was introduced in 1989 as a term for earth-found natural objects of unique natural historical value. Like Danefæ, Danekræ belongs to the state and must be handed over to one of the state’s natural history museums. Examples of danekræ include:

  1. Rare or very well-preserved fossils (fossilized animals and plants).
  2. Whole animal skeletons, or large parts thereof, and rare whole skulls or parts of skulls from the Ice Age and later.
  3. Minerals of rare composition or occurrence and crystals of unusual size or shape.
