Autumn break at Fur Museum
In week 42, Fur Museum takes you on a journey 55 million years back in time! On Tuesday and Thursday, our geologists invite you on a fossil hunt in our mole pit – weather permitting. Here you can find everything from fossilized fish to ancient plants and learn about volcanoes, ice ages and the dramatic landscapes that have shaped the island. Read more here.
On Tuesday, October 14 from 18:00-21:00, Fur Museum will be transformed into a dark and mysterious place where the past comes to life. When the museum is lit only by flashlights, even the ancient fossils become a little more spooky. Bring your own flashlight and explore in the dark. Maybe there are stories hiding in the shadows that you can’t see in daylight… Read more here.
Monday to Friday during the fall break, you can also meet our geologist Bo at 11:00 – he takes the whole family on a time travel through volcanoes, dinosaurs and the first humans. Children can also let their creativity run wild and paint on real piers or make their own Fur memorial. Read more here.
