Research and reports

The natural history research is based on the museum’s geological collection of 55 million-year-old fossils, including fossils found in the pier graves on Fur. As a subject area, nature has strong traditions of collaboration with leading Danish and international research environments, including the Natural History Museum of Denmark at the University of Copenhagen, the Fossil and Pier Museum on Mors and the universities of Oslo and Lund.
